Contest Rules
Screenplay contest material submitted to The Wiki Screenplay Contest is accepted via electronic submission only. ​ Submissions must be in PDF file format, the title ONLY indicated in the PDF file name (do not use quotation marks, all caps, or write "10 pages" or anything else in the file name). Submissions as Final Draft or Movie Magic Screenwriter files will not be read, scored, or judged. Simply convert your Final Draft or Screenwriter file to PDF...and then submit! ​Maximum acceptable page counts: Screenplay=130. TV Script=80. Short Film Script=40. Longer scripts may be submitted as Part 1-Part 2 as individual submissions. Winners agree to provide a color photo headshot for publicity purposes; winners explicitly agree to the publication of their image, name, and logline of their winning script across all media at the sole discretion of The Wiki Screenplay Contest for the duration of The Wiki Screenplay Contest. Submitting writers agree to hold The Wiki Screenplay Contest harmless against any and all claims of any kind with respect to publication, spelling, or capitalization of their names and understand that their names will be published in the format provided on their Film Freeway entry, with no guarantees of accuracy. There is no limit to the number of screenplay, teleplay, or short film scripts you may submit. Scripts which have been produced, are under option agreement, purchase agreement, or are in pre-production or production are not eligible for entry. Any such entries will not be refunded. Prior winning entries are accepted for analysis and scoring, but are not eligible to win in a subsequent contest period. Submitted script material must be received by midnight of each monthly deadline date and submission fee payment must accompany your material. Prize money awarded to winning entries is paid only via Paypal or Stripe in U.S. funds only; winners must provide valid Paypal ID/email contact to receive funds. All prize funds must be claimed within 14 days of notification to winning writers of their award; unclaimed funds will not be available thereafter. All entry fees are non-refundable; submissions in any file format other than PDF will be disqualified with no refund (although we're pretty helpful in this regard and will reach out to you if your file format needs correcting)d. There is no limitation to the number of pages submitted. All material submitted to these screenplay contests must be original, and all rights must be wholly owned by the writer(s). Material written with the assistance of any Artificial Intelligence tools should be identified as "A.I. assisted". Screenplays and scripts must be submitted by the credited writer. Screenplays and scripts written by writing teams must be submitted by one of the writers, with consent of the other(s). All writers must be credited on title page. Credit, spelling and punctuation of writer names and script titles will be published as submitted at time of entry; no edits, additions, or changes following end of contest period. If a screenwriting team is chosen as a winner, prizes will be given to the screenwriter submitting the project. Each team is responsible for dividing or sharing the prize money, with no direction from The Wiki Screenplay Contest administrators, staff, or judges. Once submitted, material is promptly assigned to analysts and judges and reading/scoring begins. Revisions, rewrites, addenda, or substitutions of either corrected pages or new drafts of the entered screenplay or script material require a separate entry. By using our service, you authorize us to use any trusted third-party online and cloud-based services and databases for hosting, managing and/or transmitting your submission file(s), including Film Freeway, ISA, Stage32, and WhereHollywoodHides. All copyright, ownership and derivative rights to the material submitted to The Wiki Screenplay Contest remains with the original rights holders and/or author. By submitting material to the contest, writer gives contest administrators permission to promote the work and the writer to third parties, including professional literary managers and agents at their sole discretion. By submitting material to the contest, you agree to hold The Wiki Screenplay Contest and Butterfly Beach Media Inc., its officers, managers, employees, contractors, and representatives of all kinds harmless against any and all claims, including typographical errors, misspellings, or any other errors of publication on this website or in any social media, email, or other marketing publication. No assurances, warranties, or guarantees are either implicitly or explicitly made as to the efforts or lack of response by any and all third parties to whom The Wiki Screenplay Contest may send or transmit material. Winning entries are ineligible for future contest submissions. Plagiarized or non-original written materials will be disqualified.
